After watching the video to the end, practically giddy at the sight of such a fantastic idea–I would go down that slide in a second–and then run back up and do it again!–I was shocked to see that it is actually an ad for Volkswagen.
Well done, VW, well done.
I do think that a lot of what makes something viral is the amount of glee that both goes into the making of and that someone gets from seeing/watching something. If it makes you happy, then you will pass it on. Most attempts at viral marketing miss this by a long shot.
It is also interesting to read the comments on the video, with a good amount of people commenting on the infeasibility of doing something like this in the US because of fears of litigation, which is such a sad commentary on American society in my mind, but perhaps that’s fodder for a future post…
